Eric Bieniemy has had an illustrious career as an offensive coordinator where he has won 2 Super Bowl titles with the Chiefs. The former Chiefs OC is greatly regarded for his skills and abilities.

The Commanders‘ OC and assistant head coach apparently struggled a lot to get where he is right now. While many also believe that he should have laded a head coach position by now. His colleagues Doug Pederson and Matt Nagy both got head coaching jobs but Bieniemy is still on the sidelines calling out plays.

Many have assumed that this can be due to some racial controversy that is at play. Currently, the NFL has only 3 Black head coaches while 70% of the players are Black and that’s something to worry about as there is a lack of racial diversity in the coaching positions.

However, former RB LeSean McCoy has a different assessment regarding the whole situation. Although McCoy agrees that Black coaches have issues getting the promotion they deserve, he also believes that Bieniemy’s case is different from that.

The former Eagles RB recently have an interview with Fox regarding the whole situation and even tweeted about the interview with an interesting caption. “The traits or skills you need to be a good coordinator I haven’t seen or WITNESSED it,” LeSean McCoy stated in a tweet regarding Eric Bieniemy.

Eric Bieniemy is turning out to be one of the most contradictory figures in the world of the NFL. The Commanders OC and assistant coach has had conflicting views from different people.

While LeSean McCoy believes that Bieniemy has no leadership qualities, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes thinks that he’s one of the best coaches he’s ever played under. There are also rumors that the Chiefs HC Andy Reid wanted him out of the team due to various reasons.

However, McCoy had strong opinions regarding him. Although the former RB completely supports the Commanders OC, it is only because he is a Black coach and he isn’t impressed with his leadership qualities.

“I’m rooting for him because he’s a Black coach, and I love to see Black coaches win. Also, he’s a running back coach. Running back coaches never get a chance to be head coaches,” LeSean McCoy stated in an interview. “If I’m going to do my job, and I’m going to be honest, where is the true value at?” Apparently, not in Bieniemy’s play drafting skills, nor his leadership capabilities.”

Eric Bieniemy is currently working in the Commanders’ organization where he holds 2 positions. However, it’s still unsure when will he be able to land the prestigious HC job.
