Sports analyst Shannon Sharpe is currently a free agent after his departure from FOX Sports 1’s morning talk show ‘Undisputed’. According to sources, the Hall of Famer is in early talks to be part of FanDuel.

After ending his seven-year partnership with Skip Bayless earlier this month, 54-year-old Sharpe is looking for a new destination, and there is no shortage. Front Office Sports reported that FanDuel, which recently lost Pat McAfee to ESPN, is keen on signing Sharpe.

Sharpe’s presence would be beneficial for both parties, as the NFL season is just around the corner. He knows that being the boss of your own show is a great opportunity. Besides, he could also integrate his popular podcast, ‘Club Shay Shay,’ which has over 1 million followers.

FanDuel has already made some notable acquisitions for the show, including ex-ESPN anchor Michelle Beadle, who hosts RunitBack with NBA Insider Shams Charania. Shannon will instantly be the star of the platform if the deal happens. He is already familiar with the crew, as he participated in their Super Bowl party earlier this year.

With Pat McAfee taking his YouTube show to ESPN, the path is open for Shannon to replace him. He will definitely command a salary similar to or more than the $30 million per year that McAfee earned.

This is not the only offer on the table for Shannon, as ESPN ‘First Take’ host Stephen A. Smith has expressed his desire to work with him. Moreover, McAfee, before his ESPN deal, gave Shannon an open invitation to be part of his show.

Sharpe even tweeted yesterday about his imminent return.

After Shannon Sharpe quit Undisputed, a chance to star in one of the biggest sports talk shows in the country suddenly opened up, and there have been various names floating around. Shannon was a dynamic speaker on the show, bringing his field knowledge to the show. He knows how to analyze it properly and present it in a way that even the least interested man would want to hear. Replacing someone like that is not an easy target.

However, there are faces that have emerged as potential Shannon replacements. Former NFL player and host of Speak, LeSean “Shady” McCoy, is one of the front runners. His co-host, Emmanuel Acho, is another candidate that fans might see alongside Skip Bayless.

While they are sound choices for the job, fans will miss Shannon’s fiery and passionate approach on Undisputed.
