“That’s preposterous. Stop it!” – Social media has mixed feelings about petition asking Donna Kelce to do the coin toss for the Eagles-Chiefs Super Bowl

Super Bowl LVII is really special and will hold two records in the history books. One for being the first championship game where both starting quarterbacks are of African American lineage. Second, to be the first Super Bowl to have two brothers play, but for opposite teams. Jason Kelce will be on the Eagles’ sideline while Travis Kelce will be on the Chiefs’ sideline.
Jason and Travis both have a Super Bowl ring and only one of them will add a second one to his collection on February 12. But their mom, Donna Kelce, will be the one only who won’t be losing that night. She will win either way! Mama Kelce, as she is affectionately called, has been a great supporter to both her sons and has been captured in the stadium cheering them on many occasions.
To make this Super Bowl more special, a petition has been released to make Donna Kelce do the Super Bowl LVII coin toss. That’s right! Imagine Mama Kelce in the center with Jason and Travis on either side as she flips the coin and the fight for the Lombardi Trophy begins. It really will be a special and beautiful moment which will also be a first in league history.
Donna Kelce has proven that she is a Super Mom
The petition to make Donna Kelce do the coin toss was created by Amber Smith on the Change.org petition and has had more than 150,000 signatures until now. “As We all Know Travis and Jason Kelce will go head to head on Superbowl Sunday!!!,” Amber wrote in the petition. “This is a petition to the NFL to allow Mrs Kelce to do the Honorary Coin Toss!!! What a great way to show the Super Proud mama some Amazing Appreciation and Love while giving her a once in a lifetime opportunity!!”
Doona Kelce really is the best mom one could ask for. During last year’s playoffs, she attended both Jason’s and Travis’ games that were on the same day. The Philadelphia Eagles were facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium in the wild-card game and Kansas City Chiefs had Pittsburgh Steelers in the opposition.
Unfortunately, Jason Kelce and the Eagles were defeated by the Bucs. After seeing her first son’s defeat, Mama Kelce traveled 1200 miles to the Arrowhead Stadium, where her younger son, Travis, and the Chiefs registered an easy win over the Steelers. Her adventure involved two airports and two time zones. The NFL updated fans on a timely basis about Donna’s whereabouts during her journey.
Although Donna’s conviction towards her sons is widely appreciated, the recent coin toss petition was received with a slightly mixed response from NFL fans. Check out some of those reactions down below.
This petition is simply another way of honoring a mom and is very close to reaching its goal. Let’s all hope that the league grants the fans their wish and Mama Kelce is the one who does the coin toss!
