Tom Brady is one of the most celebrated players in the history of the National Football League. His journey into the league is the stuff of legends. From being selected 199th overall in the 2000 NFL draft to becoming 7x Super Bowl champion.
No matter how much people hated Brady for being the best, everyone secretly loved him. The legendary quarterback played for 23 glorious years that were filled with countless records and awards that probably won’t be broken anytime soon or maybe ever.
He initially retired for the first time back in 2022 but returned after a 40 days hiatus. However, the return did not go as planned for the Bucs quarterback who finished the season with an 8-9 losing record, Brady’s first, and capped it with a loss in the wild-card round.

Gisele Bündchen says Tom Brady did the best he could in his last NFL game
During the 2022 season, Tom Brady wasn’t himself and many think it was due to his divorce from Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen. The couple had been together for 13 years and currently share two children – a son Benjamin and a daughter Vivian. Bündchen was a regular at Brady’s games in New England and Tampa Bay as she was his biggest supporter. However, after their divorce was finalized in October 2022, she wasn’t seen in the stands anymore but when the Bucs played the Cowboys in the wild-card game, she couldn’t help but watch.
While talking with Vanity Fair Gisele Bündchen said, “It was tough, but you know what? Let’s just be honest. It’s a team sport, and you can’t play alone. I think he did great under the circumstances that he had. I mean, he had no offensive line.” Tom Brady was undefeated against the Cowboys in his entire career and everyone thought the wild card game would swing in the Bucs’ favor. Unfortunately, Dallas got the upper hand and registered a 31-14 victory and sent off Brady with a loss in his final career game.
Amidst their divorce, there were rumors about Bündchen giving an ultimatum to the 45-year-old NFL icon but the supermodel squashed these rumors. “Listen, I have always cheered for him, and I would continue forever. If there’s one person I want to be the happiest in the world, it’s him. Believe me. I want him to achieve and to conquer. I want all his dreams to come true. That’s what I want, really, from the bottom of my heart,” she said.
At the time of the playoff loss, Tom Brady hadn’t yet announced his retirement because everyone thought that he had one more left in the tank. Sadly, he announced his retirement shortly after on February 1, 2023, ending a career that was just pure magic. The NFL will never see a quarterback like him ever again!
