“Not the one everyone’s waiting for”- NFL Twitter speculates Aaron Rodgers’ trade announcement by the Jets after Chuck Clark’s trade

Aaron Rodgers‘ move to the New York Jets looks inevitable now, especially after the way the quarterback has shown reluctance to commit to the Green Bay Packers. The 39-year-old has kept everyone on their toes in regards to his future, but one would think that the ship has sailed for a return to the Packers.

After coming out of his four day darkness retreat, he vouched to take a decision soon, but that hasn’t come in yet. In between that though, he has had time to meet with the Jets hierarchy, including owner Woody Johnson, general manager Joe Douglas, coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.

After a poor 2022/23 NFL season, Jets owner, Woody Johnson vowed to bring in a quality quarterback to backup his incredible defense. And signing Aaron Rodgers could probably be the best thing that happens to the Jets this offseason, and could potentially make them Super Bowl candidates for the next season.

After the meeting, the New York Jets are the favorites to land the Super Bowl winner, according to popular NFL sources. The Packers also seem resigned to fact that Rodgers will probably leave them, and have in no way hindered conversations between their player and the Jets.

Aaron Rodgers is yet to make his intentions clear

Aaron Rodgers is still a Packers as of now, after he signed a three year contract extension worth $150 million with the franchise last year in March. However, the second and the third year would become inconsequential in the event of a trade, and the Jets look to pounce on this particular opportunity.

This became all the more clear, after the Jets lost out on the signing of another probable quarterback candidate in the form of Derek Carr, who joined the New Orleans Saints this week. Fans on Twitter have become impatient, as they simply cannot wait for the moment when Aaron Rodgers’ move to the Jets would be officially announced.

Fans took to Twitter to voice their opinions after NFL insider, Ian Rapoport posted an update on the Jets. Rapoport wrote, “Sources: The #Ravens are expected to trade safety Chuck Clark to the #Jets in exchange for late-round draft pick compensation. The starter since 2019, Clark now adds veteran experience to NYJ. It should be official when the league year begins.”
