Life has come full circle for Bobby Wagner! Veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner signed a one-year $7 million deal with the Seattle Seahawks making his return to the team that drafted him into the league. After playing for the Seahawks for 10 years, Wagner signed with the Los Angeles Rams in March 2022. He signed a five-year $65 million contract and played with them for the last season.
However, the Rams sold everything they had to win Super Bowl LVI, and it has returned to haunt them. Los Angeles had to part ways with many of the players they signed including star cornerback Jalen Ramsey to come under the cap space. The team and Bobby Wagner mutually agreed to part ways as it wasn’t fiscally possible for the Rams to have the star linebacker on the roster.
When the news after Wagner’s return to Seattle was broken by NFL Network Insiders Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport, the 32-year-old texted Rapoport, “Happy to be back.” The homecoming for Bobby Wagner will be great because he is already familiar with the team and coaches and he is a respected player in the camp. However, he will be returning to Seattle with Russell Wilson. The Seahawks still did a great job making it 9-8 and to the playoffs all thanks to Geno Smith who won the comeback Player of the Year Award. Having Wagner on the defense will make them formidable as his presence on the opposite side of the scrimmage line is enough to scare offenses.
Seahawks fans ecstatic with Bobby Wagner’s homecoming

Bobby Wagner was selected in the second round of the 2012 NFL draft by the Seahawks. He played for them for 10 seasons and he was nominated to the Pro Bowl every year from 2014 to 2021. A part of the fearsome Legion of Boom, Bobby won Super Bowl XLVIII and has a career total of 1,383 combined tackles, 78 QB hits, 68 tackles for loss, and 11 interceptions.
Seahawks fans were on cloud nine after the news about Bobby Wagner’s return broke out. Here’s how fans reacted on Twitter.
The defense is surely elevated with Bobby Wagner’s return. Let’s see if the Seahawks are able to reach the same pinnacle they did back in the 2010s with a great quarterback and their defense headed by one of the best linebackers in the league.
