The Carolina Panthers seem to have found their franchise QB as they selected the Alabama quarterback Bryce Young with their No.1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. However, many people still have doubts about the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner’s physique and how well he can adjust to the pace of the NFL.

The Panthers’ general manager Scott Fitterer did a remarkable job in the off-season and changed the whole offensive unit of the Carolina-based franchise. After losing their premium wide receiver D. J. Moore to the Chicago Bears in a trade to acquire the 1st overall pick, Fitterer added WR Adam Thielen, WR DJ Chark, RB Miles Sanders, and TE Hayden Hurst to fire up the offensive unit.

And with the first overall pick, they ended up selecting Bryce Young to lead their new offense. The Panthers were reportedly contemplating which quarterback to select between Young, Anthony Richardson, and C.J. Stroud. In the end, they went with the safer selection as they selected Young, who had a phenomenal college football career under the legendary head coach Nick Saban.

Bryce Young, who was born to Craig Young and Julie Young, is a dynamic player, who has had plenty of magical moments throughout his career in Alabama. However, the 5’10” 194-pound signal caller’s size was not ideal for an NFL quarterback which led to some teams reportedly overlooking him in the draft process.

Nevertheless, he still ended up going as the number 1 overall pick to the Panthers and looks to lead them to their first playoff appearance since 2017. Young started his training camp on Friday and impressed his HC Frank Reich but fans aren’t thrilled to see the ‘short’ QB in action.

Fans on social media aren’t convinced that Bryce Young will succeed in the league due to his physique. After the video of Young taking his first snap in the Panthers training camp on Friday went viral on social media, some people trolled him for looking like a middle school kid among grown men. Check out some of the reactions below!

Nevertheless, the talented quarterback didn’t have much problem in college football with his height. He was a 2-year starter for Alabama and ended up as a Heisman Trophy finalist in both those years. Young, with his new offensive weapons in Carolina, will look to take advantage of the weak NFC South division and make a good first impression in his rookie year in the 2023 season.
