Trevor Lawrence was drafted as the 1st overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2021 NFL Draft from Clemson where he enjoyed a stellar college career while winning the national championship and attracting everyone’s eyes towards him because of his talent on the field.
Trevor Lawrence was the highest-profile college player in a long time and was the main target for most of the teams in the draft but it was clear that he will go as the No.1 pick and the Jaguars didn’t hesitate in drafting him and bringing him to kickstart a new future for the team.
In his first season in the NFL, things didn’t go as Trevor would have hoped as he found himself in a struggling team who was always in news due to their head coach Urban Meyer and for obvious bad reasons. Urban Meyer was later sacked by the Jaguars owner and the search for a new head coach who could elevate the game of Trevor had started.
Former Eagles head coach Doug Pederson was selected as the new head coach for the Jaguars ahead of next season and his hiring pleased Trevor Lawrence a lot as he spoke about his new head coach and said, “We’re really excited obviously, I talked to him briefly on the phone Thursday night, and then today, first time meeting him in person just seems like a really great guy.”

Trevor Lawrence was full of praise for his new head coach Doug Pederson and said, “Obviously, he’s had a lot of success. His resume kind of speaks for itself. He’s an offensive guy, played quarterback in the NFL. All of those things make me really excited, and it’s something that I’m just excited to get to work with him and see what he brings to the table.”
He added, “I think everybody’s excited. Everybody’s really relieved we got our guy, and to be able to move forward and go to work now is a really good feeling.”, He said, “He played the quarterback position,” Lawrence explained, “so he sees it through my lens more so than a lot of coaches that haven’t played the position.”
Trevor Lawrence will be looking forward to working under his new coach and improving this Jaguars team who had another disappointing season this year, Doug Pederson will be hopeful of improving Trevor Lawrence as he is the kind of quarterback who has all the talent in the world and just needs good guidance to work under, Jaguars again have another No.1 draft pick ahead of the NFL DRAFT 2022 and will be looking to get another great player with it.
