Sparks fly as Western Conference 1st round playoff season starts between the Minnesota Wild and Dallas Stars. Despite nervousness encircling the player’s locker room, Wild goalie Marc-Andre Fleury is set on cooking some rather peculiar recipe for Filip Gustavsson.

Although, ‘Flower’ didn’t start this prank war but he is set on finishing it. Apparently, netminder Gustavsson pulled off the stunt of stitching Fleury’s socks together recently. Fleury was baffled by the situation as he was unaware of the perpetrator’s identity.

In a recent interview, Gustavsson spoke about his detailed plan on pranking Fleury which brought on ‘Flower’s revenge to bloom at the brightest. On Saturday, Wild’s players were greeted with the weirdest sight on the ice which was apparently a mock representation of Gustavsson in front of the net.

Fans cracked up on social media, as pictures of the hand-drawn face image became viral. According to HockeyFeed, it might as well be Marc-Andre Fleury who took the time to draw the face on the balloon. Fleury went on to say that he has a rule to never touch his partner in pranks.

But Filip Gustavsson’s approach changed ‘Flower’s mind. “I never go for my partner. But I’ve got to give it to him…He must be big-time”. Whether the players are only internalizing their tension in the Stanley Cup race or not, this prank surely made things lighter even for a second.

As of now, Wild coach Dean Evason has refused to announce the first goalie’s name prior to Monday’s game against the Stars. Fleury, a future Hall of Famer played a crucial role in the Wild’s lead in last year’s playoff round. Although Cam Talbot had to take over after ‘Flower’s collapse.

Last year Fluery started off the match, but this year Evason has yet to clarify if it’ll be Fluery or Gustavsson. Evason commented, “I said it was an easy decision last year, because I thought — we thought — both goaltenders can play“.

It’s the same situation. Both goaltenders have been absolutely fantastic for us this year. Fantastic. So the decision that we’re going to make is a difficult decision, but it’s an easy decision because they’re both extremely great goaltenders that the team has confidence in.”

We’ve used them both all season. There is no reason why we will not continue to do that. We’ll monitor game by game, as we always have.” Back-to-back Stanley Cup 1st round games are scheduled to fire off on Monday, as fans prepare their best to cheer on their favorite team or player.
