WWE has already announced some pretty huge matches and segments for the debut episode of Raw on Netflix. However, the company always has hidden surprises up its sleeves, especially for shows as big as this. Thus, fans have already started to make their bold predictions for Raw’s debut on Netflix.
The promotion can potentially turn the January 6th, 2025, edition of Monday Night Raw into one of, if not the best, episode of the red brand ever broadcasted. The show is already expected to have some shocking title changes, superstar debuts, and electrifying returns.
With that said, there are five bold predictions for the inaugural episode of Raw on Netflix.
5. Pentagon Jr. puts Rey Mysterio on the shelf, debuts as a heel
WWE has aired several vignettes on Raw over the last few weeks. All these videos point towards the debut of Pentagon Jr. on the first episode of Raw Netflix. Treating him as a bland babyface luchador and involving him in LWO storylines is possibly the worst thing WWE can do with Penta. Besides, he has much more potential as a dastardly heel.
Rey Mysterio currently has tensions with Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, and it looks like Penta might be his partner in this fight. Now, the 39-year-old cannot lose his first match in WWE, and the New Day needs a win to solidify their new character. The best way to go about this situation is to have the debuting star immediately turn on the Hall of Famer, establishing himself as a heel and letting the former tag team champions pick up the victory.
4. Gunther has a confrontation with John Cena to set up a WrestleMania match
Gunther has long been portrayed as the perfect heel to go up against a character like John Cena. Besides, the Ring General has built up quite a reputation for roasting wrestling legends during his promos. The one man who could be a great rival to him on the microphone is the Cenation leader himself.
John Cena is confirmed for an appearance at Raw’s premiere on Netflix. The World Heavyweight Champion can interrupt his promo, laying the seeds for a potential WrestleMania match between the two. Furthermore, overcoming Gunther at WrestleMania to become a record-breaking 17x World Champion is a great story that WWE can tell.

Becky Lynch appearing at the debut episode of Raw’s debut on Netflix is almost a given. She has been a part of various media appearances and advertising for the show. While many people have theorized that she may resume her feud with Rhea Ripley, The Man is more likely to get revenge against Liv Morgan.

Even Roman Reigns has stated that there seems to be something off about the Wiseman since his return late last year. While he is still an invaluable asset to the OG Bloodline, fans should remember that Paul Heyman has a long history of turning on his clients. Now, the Hall of Famer may be on his way to turn on the OTC and align himself with The Rock. The 59-year-old even raised his hand and counted to three on SmackDown, a reference to The Final Boss’ appearance at Bad Blood.
The Rock is clearly heavily invested in WWE. In fact, he recently bought even more TKO stock, worth more than $13 million. Thus, it is unlikely that he would want to make an appearance at such a huge show for his company. Now, Heyman is already slated to place the Ula Fala around the true tribal chief. This may finally be the show where the People’s Champion reveals he is the mastermind behind the New Bloodline, and the Wiseman places the Tribal Necklace around his neck.

It is unclear if Brock Lesnar would ever return to WWE. However, if the company ever wanted him back, this would be a perfect time for him to return.
