There has been a lot of noise surrounding Jaylen Brown and LeBron James since their respective moves to the Philadelphia 76ers. However, the distractions haven’t affected their on-court performance.

The expectations surrounding the 76ers are sky-high for this season. While there were doubts about how the star-studded players would adjust to one another, the early signs have been promising so far.

The former Boston Celtics star is a huge fan of Harry Potter. He once revealed that he spent his 10-day break before the 2024 NBA Finals binge-watching all eight films and has gone on to watch them over 100 times.

He had the chance to show off his knowledge in front of Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe during an appearance on the Young Man and the Three podcast.

I’m Slytherin, bro. LeBron. Oh, what is LeBron? I’m gonna go Gryffindor. He’s very happy. I think that’s a fair take. I wanna see, this is gonna be a great dialogue in the comments on Twitter. I’m gonna say LeBron is Gryffindor.

Brown believes he identifies with Slytherin, while he placed LeBron James in Gryffindor. Slytherin and Gryffindor are two of the four Hogwarts Houses in the Harry Potter universe. Brown did maintain that every house had something valuable to offer.

One of the main differences between the two is their core values. Gryffindor is associated with courage and bravery, which does align well with James, as he is known for taking up challenges throughout his career. Meanwhile, the core values of Slytherin are ambition and cunning, which can be misunderstood at times, just like Brown.

Drafted by the Celtics in 2016, Brown has established himself as one of the best players in the league today. After his career-best campaign last season, he was shockingly traded away to the 76ers in the summer.

He arrives in Philly as a former NBA champion, Finals MVP, with five All-Star appearances and two All-NBA selections to his name. However, Brown took aim at how individual NBA awards are decided and said they don’t matter to him because they are “made up”.

All the awards that people chase, all the outside validation, I just—it doesn’t even matter. It’s made up. You know, somebody made up an award and made up a fake committee to give people these awards based upon what criteria, nobody actually really knows.

The 30-year-old is currently in his 11th season in the NBA. His highest official finish in the MVP race is sixth place, which was his ranking last season. However, Brown has always been critical of NBA awards in the past and did not hold back on the criticism once again.

Tyrese Maxey on how Jaylen Brown and LeBron James encouraged him against the Indiana Pacers

There is no doubt that the 76ers pose the most dominant roster in the NBA at the moment. They have multiple players who can just take over a game on any given night.

On Wednesday night, Tyrese Maxey took over against the Indiana Pacers on the road. It was a topsy-turvy game that saw the 76ers take a 10-point lead into halftime. However, the Pacers came back with full force in the third quarter and built a 13-point lead heading into the final quarter.

The 76ers guard delivered a sensational fourth-quarter performance, scoring 17 points and dishing out four assists to help the 76ers beat the Pacers in the end. Following the win, Maxey spoke about how Jaylen Brown and LeBron James held him accountable.

JB, Process, and Bron kind of got on me (for) not being aggressive the first three quarters. When JB checked back in the game in the 4th quarter, he said, ‘You owe us, take us home.’ I’ve just got to do what my vets tell me to do.
