Social media hails Charles Leclerc after claiming pole position in Barcelona: “Qualifying King for a reason”

With a flurry of events at the Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona, the Qualifying Session for the 2022 Spanish Grand Prix has finally come to an end and we have our brilliant pole-sitter for the race on Sunday–Charles Leclerc from Ferrari. The Monegasque was 1.10 seconds ahead of the rest of the grid, and delivered an amazing final lap to clinch the top position in the grid.

But while Championship leader Charles Leclerc is up in P1 in the Qualis, reigning Champion Max Verstappen had another Quali mishap as his Red Bull RB18’s engine showed problems once again towards the end of the Q3 session. Max Verstappen exclaimed suddenly during the last few seconds of Q3, saying that he had no power in his car, and the Red Bull engineers quickly guided him to return the car to the garage.

Max Verstappen’s Q3 run ended with a second position, so he will start Sunday’s race from the first row, behind his Championship rival Charles Leclerc. F1 Twitter fans have reacted to Charles’ incredible final lap, which got him the pole position in the Spanish Grand Prix.

Ferrari racer Charles Leclerc performed exceptionally well, alongwith his teammate Carlos Sainz. Charles had spun for once in the beginning of Q3, but he recovered quickly as the Leclerc and Sainz made the Scuderia proud with their lap times. Carlos Sainz, who is driving the Ferrari in his home Grand Prix for the first time, got P3 in the Qualis, and will start the race from the second row.

Now that Charles Leclerc has got an advantage over his Championship rival Max Verstappen, he just needs to make sure he clinches the race win in the Grand Prix tomorrow, so that he can defend his position as the Championship leader in this season.
