It was not the start Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs were looking for in the NBA Finals. After a strong start to the game, the Spurs were overpowered by an in-form New York Knicks in the second half on Wednesday night.
The extra days of rest seemed to benefit the Knicks, as the Spurs’ energy dropped in the third and fourth quarters. In the end, the Spurs succumbed to a 105-95 defeat to the Knicks in Game 1 at the Frost Bank Center.
With 6:28 remaining in the fourth quarter, an incident occurred that caught everyone, including Wembanyama, by surprise. The game was interrupted as a fan ran onto the court and appeared to try taking a selfie with the 7’4″ center. He was quickly apprehended by two security guards and escorted off the court.

Fans react to Spurs fan running onto the court to take a selfie with Victor Wembanyama
It was an unexpected moment for Victor Wembanyama, who was in the middle of a play. Replays showed Wembanyama looking confused and smiling in the direction of the phone.
The brief delay due to the fan’s actions angered several fans across social media as they reacted to the incident.
Ok that is just weird. Seems like there would have been a more appropriate time to take a selfie. Like before or after the game, at a meet and greet, not running on the court during play. Surprised he did not get tackled before he got so close.
