Stephen A. Smith has reverted his position on the New York Jets after a humiliating loss to the Denver Broncos at the Metlife Stadium. The Green and White battled the Broncos and lost 9-10 after two successive weeks of glory.

The Jets started the season with a loss to the San Francisco 49ers, a superior team with two Super Bowl appearances in the last five years. The team quickly bounced from there, many thanks to a healed Aaron Rodgers. They defeated the Tennessee Titans and added to the winning streak with a huge win over the New England Patriots. However, the glory didn’t pass over to Week 4.

In the soggy weather, the Broncos braved the Jets despite their quarterback Bo Nix only passing for 60 yards. However, Nix secured a touchdown which the Jets failed to do so. The offense’s failures and the inability to score touchdowns have prompted Jets fans and critics alike to change their standing on the Green and White.

Speaking on The First Take, Smith admits that he was full-on Jets for some time. He added that he doesn’t feel the same about the Jets anymore, and doesn’t have the same inkling as he has for the Buffalo Bills Baltimore Ravens, or Kansas City Chiefs.

I was the one who was all-in on the Jets and I am no longer feeling that. I’m just not… I just look at the New York Jets and the immobility of Aaron Rodgers. He still has the touch. He still has the arm. But that leadership that you pointed to, emanating down from the head coach.

Stephen A. Smith said

There are multiple issues with the Jets, but a huge part of it is attributed to the coaching. There are issues with the offense which 40-year-old Rodgers admitted was his fault. There’s a visible bitterness between the players and the coach and there’s a clear distinction of not understanding the player’s style.

What you can do to squeeze out games because of your brilliance and your acumen. And your leadership capability. I don’t have the kind of faith in Saleh the way that I do in a McDermott. The way that I do in a Harbaugh. The way that I do in an Andy Reid.

Stephen A. Smith added

Apart from Smith, Damien Woody, a two-time Super Bowl-winning champion, also ripped into Saleh for his inept coaching. Woody also noted how Saleh has framed a weapon as a problem they have to deal with rather than using it to their advantage.

Ex-Packers OT comes in support of Aaron Rodgers’ cadence

Marshall Newhouse, former Packers offensive tackle, came in support of his former teammate Aaron Rodgers’ side after the New York Jets looked to backtrack on cadence in the next week. Newhouse and Rodgers were part of the Green Bay Packers team that won the Super Bowl in 2011.

Newhouse, via X, made his feelings clear that Aaron Rodgers’ unique cadence is an asset, and Saleh is not doing so well utilizing it. The Jets HC is relatively new to his cadence considering Rodgers spent most of his time out of the field last year.

Newhouse added that once you build that rapport with the QB, it is a fresh tool to manipulate the defensive ends.

The Jets, now head on to London’s wealthiest soccer club, where they will play an undefeated and strong Minnesota Vikings. The Jets’ management will get a first-hand look at what they missed out on as they face Sam Darnold, whom they let go in 2020.
