Tyreek Hill enjoyed the best years of his professional career with the Kansas City Chiefs. In 2022, Hill left the Chiefs and moved to South Beach to sign with the Miami Dolphins. Five years on, the Chiefs are tipped to re-sign the veteran speedster.
In Week 4, the Chiefs lost a couple of key wide receivers. Tyquan Thornton was carted off after dislocating his ankle. Rashee Rice left after suffering a hamstring injury.
Despite the handicap, the Chiefs won 30-27 and improved to 4-0. On Monday, Stephen A. Smith spoke in favor of the Chiefs making a move for Tyreek Hill. From Smith’s perspective, even an “80%” Hill can help KC win the Super Bowl.
Smith said on ESPN’s First Take:
If [Tyreek] Hill is 80% or better, nobody’s beating the Chiefs. They win the Super Bowl championship. That’s how I feel about this brother. That brother, Cheetah, with a running back. Oh Lord, it’s almost not fair. Let me tell you something right now. And I’m going to say this to Tyreek Hill, and I hope he’s watching. You owe it to yourself to go back to Kansas City.

Week 4 of the 2025 campaign, Hill broke his leg. He underwent season-ending surgery. The Miami Dolphins released him after the season ended. Hill has been rehabbing since.
On September 28, Hill posted a cryptic tweet about his return. Hill wrote on Twitter:
It’s almost time to get off the couch and get to work.
Two days later, the All-Pro wideout wrote that he’s “ready for some cold weather.” After Monday’s game, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that a few NFL teams have reached out to Hill’s agent Drew Rosenhaus about his condition. Hill took to Twitter again and wrote just one word: “hmm.” All signs point to Hill reuniting with the Chiefs.

Chiefs drafted Hill 165th overall in 2016. During his first stint with the AFC West franchise, Hill had 479 catches for 6,630 yards and scored 67 touchdowns in 91 games. He earned 6 Pro Bowl and 3 All-Pro selections and won a Super Bowl.
Travis Kelce reacts to a possible reunion with Tyreek Hill
There’s a lot to be happy about for a Chiefs supporter. The last couple of seasons, the club was down in the dumps. After losing to the Eagles in the 2024-25 Super Bowl, they failed to qualify for the playoffs the following year, finishing with a 6-11 record.

Star tight end Travis Kelce contemplated retirement at the end of both campaigns. However, opted to return to win a fourth ring. So far, Kelce has 16 catches for 246 yards and 2 touchdowns in four starts.
Kelce has heard rumors about Hill coming back to KC. Kelce said via Mike Silver of The Athletic:
I know I’d love to have ‘The Cheetah’ back in this building. He’s a brother. He’s one of those people who, when he sets his mind to something, he usually delivers. You saw that with Miami, when all the haters were saying he couldn’t play and he went and had his best year. I’d be excited by what he could do [here].

From 2022 until 2025, Hill led the line for the Dolphins. He started his Miami career with consecutive 1,700+ yard seasons. In 2023, he led the league with 1799 yards and 13 touchdowns on 119 receptions. Hill has pledged to surpass his previous best. He couldn’t do it in Miami; perhaps Mahomes can help him achieve that dream.
