Andrey Rublev bit the dust at the Nitto ATP Finals in 2020 and 2021 only in the round-robin stages. However, he could take one step further this time around, as he managed to reach the semifinals of the event. Andrey Rublev defeated former champions, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Daniil Medvedev in what can be called a nightmare draw for the 25-year-old.

Andrey Rublev did not have a particularly encouraging indoor hard-court season until the Nitto ATP Finals. The Russian managed to claim only the Gijon Open title, where he defeated Sebastian Korda in the finals.

The 25-year-old has had a decent year on tour, winning four ATP titles. However, the Russian has failed to do much damage at Grand Slams this year. Andrey Rublev managed to reach the last eight of the US Open and the French Open, which was his best performance at majors this season.
