Iga Swiatek is all set for the US Open final. Swiatek and Ons Jabeur are going to clash in the final of the last grand slam of the year. The World No. 1 Iga Swiatek defeated Aryna Sabalenka, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 to secure her place in the last round. While Tunisian, Ons Jabeur had an easy win over Caroline Garcia.
Iga Swiatek suffered early losses at the Canadian Open and the Cincinnati Masters but has proved her hard court skills at the prestigious US Open. She defeated top players like Sloane Stephens, Jule Niemeier and Jessica Pegula to secure a place in the final round against World No. 5 Ons Jabeur.

Serena Williams’ retirement had snatched all the attention away for good from the World No. 1 Swiatek. The Polish star has previously said, “If I’m feeling good and fit, I’m confident in my game and options. In part, therefore, it all depends on me. I’m just playing and focusing on my tennis, that’s the most important thing. It is quite obvious to me that she will be the center of attention in this tournament. She totally deserves it, she is her moment.”
Swiatek said in a recent press conference, “Maybe I wasn’t feeling a hundred per cent perfectly from the beginning of the tournament but I was still able to get better and better and play a solid game.”
Now, Swiatek has claimed that it all changed the tournament for her because she was mentally free during the whole tournament as the whole attention was on Williams. Coming into the final, Iga Swiatek is looking to win her second grand slam title this season after winning the French Open. She also won big titles this year like the Miami Open, Italian Open, Stuttgart Open and the Qatar Open.
Swiatek commented on her next US Open match-up against Jabeur. She said, “She has a different game style than most of the players. She has a great touch. All these things mixed up, she’s just a tough opponent. That’s why probably our matches are always kind of physical and really tight. She’s just a tough opponent and fully deserves to be in the final. I think it’s going to be a great battle.“
