“Practice in the morning, VC calls in the afternoon, and Olympia in the evening,” Serena Williams reveals how she manages motherhood, business, and tennis training

Serena Williams
Serena Williams is one of the greatest athletes in sporting history and has been an inspiration for many. She started her tennis career about two decades ago as a teenager and hasn’t stopped to date. She is considered to be the pioneer of a change in women’s tennis and is the flag bearer of a revolution in women’s tennis in the early 2000s.
She has won 23 grand slam titles and is currently gunning for an elusive 24th major title. Apart from tennis, Serena has been an active businesswoman too and a few years ago, gave birth to her child, Olympia, after which the dynamics of her personality completely changed.
In a recent interview with People, Serena spoke about how her life has completely changed in the last 5 years after Olympia’s birth. She revealed how she goes about managing three completely different things in a single day- tennis, business, and motherhood. She said that whenever she has to prepare for a tournament, she practices in the morning, looks after her business- Serena ventures in the afternoon and then spends time with her daughter in the evening.
“Now when I prepare for a tournament, I practice in the morning, I take VC calls in the afternoon and then I spend time with Olympia, and that didn’t happen five years ago,” Williams said. “It’s totally different. I can’t imagine having this conversation with you a little while ago and saying that this is what my life looks like.”
Which tournament will Serena Williams play next?

After losing in the first round at Wimbledon, Serena has taken a few weeks break and has returned to training this week. She was spotted hitting with her sister Venus Williams at Washington and will be seen on the court next week at the Canadian Open. She could then play at Cincinnati before eventually playing the US Open. Given that age is not on her side, the 2022 US Open could be Serena’s last realistic opportunity to win her 24th major title.
