“Ken loving the women in his life well,” Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian joins the new Barbie movie bandwagon

Alexis Ohanian, Serena Williams‘ husband, chuckled when he read online comparisons of the couple to the now-popular “Barbie” catchphrase. The posters from the upcoming “Barbie” movie, directed by Greta Gerwig, put forth another iconic tagline. The tagline has been making rounds on social media, with fans extensively using the line.

The catchphrase, “She is everything. He’s just Ken”, was used to compare Serena and her husband also. It puts forth Barbie as a perfect all-rounder meanwhile Ken is merely there as a supporting character to her. The slogan has gone viral online, with fans connecting it to a number of celebrity pairings.

Williams and Ohanian‘s picture at the 2021 Met Gala was referenced to make the contrast between the pair. While Williams dazzled on the red carpet with her billowing cape and outfit, Ohanian was smartly dressed in a tailored black suit. The couple is often spotted in similar attires, thus leading up to the remark by fans.

The couple met in 2015 in Rome and married two years later. Known for being the co-founder of Reddit, Ohanian met Williams through a chance meeting at a hotel. The duo started dating shortly afterward and have been going strong ever since. Ohanian has always supported Serena through her ups and downs as well. They also have a daughter, Olympia, together.

Known for being an avid supporter of Williams’ game, Ohanian’s comparison to Ken is most apt. Fans on Twitter lauded him for his dedication and love towards the 22-time Grand Slam champion. On the other hand, some fans condemned the Twitter user for ‘demoting’ Ohanian to “just Ken”.

Serena Williams’ “clean strokes” are something Holger Rune says he admired and recognized right away during their practice session. Rune was asked to name the greatest female tennis champion who would be the most difficult to play against in an interview with Gio Journal. Rune said that he didn’t want to respond because he respected female tennis players.

“The competition would be unfair so I cannot answer this question,” Rune said. Serena, on the other hand, will not be displaying her skills anytime soon. The American retired last year, but after unintentionally spreading rumors of her comeback, she is still determined to stay retired.
