What is Novak Djokovic’s weakness?
Novak Djokovic
With the first two grand slams of the year already under his belt, Novak Djokovic appears to be at the top of his career in 2021. Earlier this year, the Serb officially beat Roger Federer’s record for most weeks as World No. 1 in the ATP rankings. Djokovic also won his 19th Major championship at Roland Garros a few weeks ago, moving him one Slam closer to Federer and Rafael Nadal’s joint record of 18 Slams.
Djokovic has been nearly flawless in the last few years. Especially in 2021, he is on a record breaking run. But like any sportsperson, the Serb has some weak links too.
Novak Djokovic weak spots
Although some may claim that Novak Djokovic, the current world number one, is without weaknesses, he disclosed some of them in an interview. Novak Djokovic recently discussed a wide range of subjects in an interview with Graham Bensinger.
Novak’s greatest flaw was one of those things. “My capacity (or inability) to grasp things on a deeper level is both my greatest weakness and greatest strength. To be more specific, I feel my best when I recognise that strength originates from inside. And whatever happens outside, I can deal with it on the inside,” said the 19-time Grand Slam champion. “Vulnerability is a great thing because when you are vulnerable, you are emotional, liberated, compassionate, and loving.”
Djokovic now has the best head-to-head record against all members of the Big Four, and he has won the most Slams by defeating Big Four players along the way. Furthermore, on his path to the Grand Slam titles, he defeated higher-ranked opponents on average than Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. No wonder he’s currently the best tennis player across the globe.
