An interesting news popped up regarding Tom Brady. The pants he wore during his last ever game as a football player have fetched top money.

According to Sports Business reporter Darren Rovell, Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers pants were sold for a whopping $89,100, which was well above the asking price of $10,000. Rovell revealed it was more than any other in the NFL’s history.

In fact, the only two pairs of pants by legendary Major League Baseball player Babe Ruth sold for more. The Great Bambino’s pants from 1921 went for $183.200 during an auction in 2012 and the other one, which Ruth wore from 1928 to 1932, fetched $90,000 in 2014.

Brady wore the pants during the NFC Wild Card game against the Dallas Cowboys on January 16, 2023. A game that the 46-year-old would want to forget because the Buccaneers suffered a 31-14 defeat at the hands of the star helmets.

Michael Russek of Grey Flannel, who sold the pants, revealed it was possible because the individual it belonged to had achieved great things.

The record-breaking sale was a testament to the legacy of an icon. The passion of collectors never ceases to amaze me.

Previously, Brady’s shirt from the same game went for $1.39 million at Sotheby’s in November 2022.

Tom Brady to be inducted into New England Patriots Hall of Fame

Last year, during the New England Patriots’ first home game at Gillette Stadium, owner Robert Kraft announced that they would induct Tom Brady into the franchise’s Hall of Fame when the 2024 NFL season kicked off. However, they have made some changes regarding the dates.

The 7 time Super Bowl winner is about to embark on his life as a broadcaster on FOX after he signed a 10-year $375 million deal with the network. His debut is scheduled during the Week 1 game between the Browns and the Cowboys. So it will be possible for Brady to attend a weekend full of festivities at Foxboro.

Keeping that in mind, Kraft and the Patriots front office initially kept the ceremony in July. However, most of the NFL fans plan their vacation during that time. As a result, they opted to keep the event on June 12.

Tom Brady will be the 35th player to be inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame, a list that includes greats like Rodney Harrison, Mike Vrabel, and Vince Wilfork. The ceremony will take place at Gillette Stadium at 7 pm EDT.
