Adesanya vs Vettori at UFC 263 is just a few days away, and the MMA community is absolutely riled up. The pair will be running back their fight at UFC on Fox: Poirier vs Gaethje in April 2018. A lot is at stake this time, compared to the low-intensity three round clash they had in 2018.

With his Middleweight title on the line, Adesanya will be looking forward to defending his title for the third successive time. Vettori, on the other hand, will be out to avenge his narrow split decision loss to the ‘Last Stylebender’ in 2018.

Ahead of the fight, Vettori caught up with Brett Okamoto of ESPN and shared his prediction for the fight against Adesanya. ‘The Italian Dream’ vowed to beat up Adesanya this time, and finish him for good. However, he also acknowledged the Nigerian for his elusive attribute.

Vettori was quoted as saying, “I wanna finish this guy man. I really wanna finish this guy, Israel. Like, leave no doubts. And, I think I can.

Giving props to the masterful Adesanya, Vettori said, “He is solid, he is solid in his way of fighting. He’s slippery, he is able to get away from positions. But if not, I’ll just beat him every round. I can’t let any round be close, I’ll bring the fight for sure.” [h/t firstsportz]

Vettori is coming off a stunning win against Kevin Holland, which concluded only this April. Adesanya, meanwhile, is coming off a loss against Jan Blachowicz at UFC 259.

It is true that Adesanya is the clear favourite going into the fight. But, that takes nothing away from the fact that Vettori does have a chance to get hold of the title. In his win over Holland he executed an unbelievable 11 takedowns, which is the middleweight record.

Adesanya showed weaknesses on the ground when he moved up a division and took on light-heavyweight champ Jan Blachowicz at UFC 259. Blachowicz’s ground-game to which Izzy had no clue, led to his first ever loss in his MMA career. Provided, Adesanya avoids meeting Vettori on the ground, he would come out unscathed.
