“I think he’s fake and I don’t believe his sh*t,” Alexander Volkanovski takes shot over Fake Ortega
Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega
The premiere of the much-awaited TV reality show, The Ultimate Fighter will take place on 1st June 2021. UFC Featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski will be seen as a coach against Brain Ortega.
These two were scheduled to face each other at UFC 260 but Volkanovski got affected with COVID and this fight got scrapped. Afterward, they both agreed to appear as a coach, on this season of TUF, and towards the end of the season, they will face each other.
Although, the date for their faceoff isn’t finalized yet. But Volkanovski provided an update about the potential date of their match. During a chat on ‘The Joe Rogan experience’. Alexander Volkanovski says,
“From what I’m told, I don’t know if I’m going to get in trouble for saying this, I’m not sure, but I think it’s in September … early September,” The UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz is also targeted to face Glover Teixeira in September. So most probably both of these fights can take place on the same card.
Alexander Volkanovski says Brain Ortega stay fake all the time
Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega have spent a considerable amount of time together during the filming of this season of TUF and from what Volkanovski sees he sense nothing rather than fakeness in Ortega.
He added, “To be honest, mate, he doesn’t say much, “I don’t know, I’m a bit over him, to be honest. Just a couple things. I think he’s fake and I don’t believe his s—t. I just think he plays a nice guy, and some of the s—t he says, I think are all bulls—t.” {H/T Middle Easy}
“You can watch the show and sort of see weird little things. I don’t know, even with a couple of things. I don’t think he’s that bad of a guy, maybe I’m looking for things to hate on him.”
Volkanovski added, “Like I said, it’s not hard to get under his skin, Even me just saying that, I’m just he’s boiling up. So maybe that’s going to be strategy for my next fight, because I know how easily he’s triggered. It was funny, because you’re trying to get reads on him, but again, I just think he’s f—king awkward.” {H/T Middle Easy}
The champ is undefeated for 19 fights and it will be interesting to see can Ortega overcome the greatness of Alexander Volkanovski.
