Alex Pereira is one of those men who can put the fear of God in others with only a look. He is one of the biggest middleweights in UFC history. Poatan’s size and his insane punching power make him a terrifying prospect to face for anyone.

However, one man, it seems, is not very intimidated by the UFC middleweight champion. And that would be, undefeated UFC superstar, Khamzat Chimaev. The Chechnyan has repeatedly trolled and called out Alex Pereira ever since his win over Israel Adesanya at UFC 281. And now, the newly crowned UFC middleweight champion has responded to Chimaev in a terrifying way.

Alex Pereira posted a video on his Instagram page of himself in his traditional, tribal wrestling garb and called out Chimaev to an indigenous wrestling bout. The video shows Alex wrestling another person in the mud. Alex can be seen defending several takedown attempts and even managing to reverse one. Chimaev responded to the video, saying, “This is your level” followed by three laughing face emojis.

Khamzat has made it clear that he thinks the middleweight champ’s wrestling and grappling skills are subpar. He has made this opinion of his known on multiple occasions. However, whether Khamzat can back up his talk when he faces Poatan is another matter altogether.

Khamzat Chimaev has trolled Alex Pereira non-stop, ever since the Brazilian won the UFC middleweight belt. The undefeated fighter poked fun at Pereira’s wrestling and grappling ability even during the UFC 281 bout against Israel Adesanya.

Most shockingly, after the UFC 281 event, Pereira received his BJJ brown belt. This led to a lot of people trolling Pereira after the UFC 281 showed that his grappling skills left a lot to be desired. Chimaev immediately took to Twitter to react to Pereira receiving this accolade. He tweeted out a picture of Pereira wearing the brown belt. The tweet’s caption only had three facepalms and three laughing emojis.

Despite no one expecting Pereira and Adesanya to go to the ground, they tussle on the ground for a good chunk of their fight. However, if Pereira is serious about staying champion then he will have to greatly improve his grappling game. Contenders like Marvin Vettori, Whittaker, and yes, Chimaev, will be relishing the opportunity to take Pereira down and keep him there for 5 rounds to win the title.
