Joe Rogan is known for his wild and unfiltered takes, while most of the time, the UFC color commentator is applauded for he takes this time it might be the opposite. In a recent episode of his popular podcast show, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, Rogan claimed that UFC has evolved a lot in the last few years and fighters are much more advanced. According to Rogan, fighters such as Kamaru Usman, Jorge Masvidal, and Colby Covington are better than Georges St-Pierre.
He said: “I just think the level of competition he faced is higher. GSP was so good he raised the bar. But, you look at GSP’s victories he beat some very good guys but I think the guys Kamaru Usman beat, Colby Covington, Jorge Masvidal, and Tyron Woodley, I think they are better.”
Rogan also mentioned that Masvidal would have dominated the old fighters as he is just better than anyone else. “I think if Masvidal was around at that time he would be dangerous for everybody, I think he is on another level,” said Rogan. While Masvidal has some career highlights, fans might not agree with Rogan for putting ‘Gamebred’ above GSP as he is regarded as one the greatest of all time.

While mostly Rogan used to mention two or three names as his GOAT list, the 55-year-old has finally narrowed it down to one and it is Jon Jones. According to Rogan, after what Jones did at UFC 285, nobody, even GSP, came to the heavyweight in terms of greatness. He said: “Jon Jones is the GOAT. Now it’s undeniable. There was all this debate until he submitted Ciryl Gane and became the heavyweight champion. No, once can f*** with that.”
Rogan’s opinions are somewhat right as many fight fans felt the same after Jones submitted Ciryl Gane easily to capture the heavyweight title. It is going to be very hard for any other fighter in the future to emulate what Jones did in UFC.
