Edson Barboza and Ilia Topuria are set for possibly headlining the fight card after the spectacular UFC 280. Barboza, widely regarded as one of the greatest kickers in UFC history, is 2-2 in his last 4 fights and is currently on a 2-fight skid. Barboza has been a longtime UFC fighter who has been fighting the very best in the UFC since 2010. Barboza is 22-11 in his overall MMA career with 13 wins via knockouts and 1 submission.

Ilia Topuria is an undefeated upcoming Spanish mixed-martial artist who is 12-0 with 11 finishes, comprising 4 knockouts and 7 submissions. Topuria is mostly known for his physical altercation with Paddy Pimblett during the UFC London fight week back in March 2022. Topuria hopes to face Pimblett someday and is therefore also teasing a move to lightweight sooner or later in his career. The rivalry is rooted in Pimblett’s past tweets making a joke about the Georgian people and Topuria has an ancestral association with Georgia.

This will be a UFC Vegas event being held on October 29, 2022, just the week after UFC 280. Barboza has a string of wins over the likes of Dan Hooker, Shane Burgos, Beneil Dariush, Gilbert Melendez, Anthony Pettis, Bobby Green, Evan Dunham, Ross Pearson, Anthony Njokuani, and many more. Barboza’s biggest victory comes in the form of the first-ever spinning wheel kick knockout in UFC history against Terry Etim, which can objectively be one of the greatest knockouts of all time.

Topuria is coming off a huge comeback knockout win over Jai Herbert back in UFC London in March 2022. Topuria’s biggest win comes against Ryan Hall, the man who was the first person to submit BJ Penn in an MMA competition via submission.
