The recent UFC Fight Night was headlined by Kai Kara-France and Amir Albazi going head-to-head in the flyweight division. Both fighters gave it their all and Albazi emerged victorious. However, the event drew a lot of eyes in for the wrong reasons. The majority of UFC fans found Amir’s win to be unjust. As Kara-France was unable to finish his opponent, the judges gave a decision victory to Albazi.
This caused an eruption in the MMA community. Fans took to attack the judges who had made the wrong call. On the show ‘The MMA Hour’ hosted by popular journalist Ariel Helwani, Kai Kara-France had thoughts on the controversial decision. As the interview had gone by, the New Zealander fighter dropped a bombshell that shocked the host. ‘Don’t Blink’ revealed that the incompetent judging cost him $100,000 on the night.
“I was the one dictating the pace. I was the one pressuring, I was the one landing the better shots. He [Amir Albazi] was gassed, and all he did was push me against the cage. At my career right now, that cost me a hundred grand. It cost me my ranking, No.3 in the world. Winning this fight would’ve put me right back into where I wanna be. Which is, the best in the world. You just gotta think, ‘What are these judges looking at?,'” said Kai Kara-France.
The controversial decision is indefinitely one of the most talked-about moments this year. Kara-France felt the disappointment toward the judges as this gives him an unwarranted and halting loss in his career at UFC Fight Night.

Fans were outraged by the divisive decision done by the judges. However, the New Zealander fighter, despite being disappointed, was witnessed to be gracious in defeat. The unjust decision loss did not seem to bother ‘Don’t Blink’.
The fighter was seen to be composed and level-headed in an interview with ESPN MMA. “It’s what the judges are scoring. I was feeling confident when they were calling the announcement. But hats off to Amir. I’m not gonna be one to dwell on it. Congrats to him for winning. It is awesome for flyweights to be in this headline. I can’t really be too down on the result. I just gotta go again, that’s it,” said Kai Kara-France.
Despite suffering an undeserving loss, fans were astonished to see a level-headed Kai Kara-France. Fans and fighters like Israel Adesanya, were shocked upon witnessing the decision.
