Kevin Lee believes he has the skills to take on welterweight phenom Khamzat Chimaev. The former UFC lightweight fighter has called out “Borz” to a fight. The fighter from Detroit also makes some bold claims in his tweet which has caused a lot of hilarious reactions from the fans.
Kevin Lee fought in the UFC from 2014 to 2021. The fighter was one of the top lightweight fighters in the world before his poor spell which led to him being cut from the roster. Khamzat Chimaev, the UFC superstar recently claimed he is running out of opponents to fight. The “Motown Phenom” is ready to step up against the undefeated fighter.
Not only is Lee ready to fight Chimaev in the octagon, but he also believes he has the skills to stop Chimaev from “outwrestling him”. In his recent tweet he wrote, “I will fight Chimaev next. He won’t outwrestle me and I’ve never lost a first round.” The fighter from Detroit tagged the official UFC handle in his tweet probably looking to be resigned by the promotion.
Kevin Lee is 2-4 in his last 6 fights in the UFC. Fans believe Lee’s claims are outrageous and trolled the fighter in his mentions for calling out Khamzat Chimaev. Chimaev is currently undefeated in the UFC with a record of 12-0 in his professional career. Only one fight in his pro career has gone the distance.
I will fight @KChimaev next. He won’t outwrestle me and I’ve never lost a first round. @ufc

Fans react to Kevin Lee’s bold claims to take on Khamzat Chimaev
Kevin Lee signed with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s MMA promotion, EAGLE FC. The former UFC fighter took on UFC veteran Diego Sanchez and earned a unanimous decision victory at EAGLE FC 46 main event. Nurmagomedov’s promotion seems to have put a halt to hosting events in the US which must’ve triggered Lee’s call out. Safe to say fans haven’t taken Lee’s call out seriously.

Khamzat Chimaev, on the other hand, is training in Dubai hoping to fight on the UFC 286 card. The fighter revealed he has no opponents willing to fight him. The fighter is coming off a dominant performance against Kevin Holland in his last fight. “Borz” is very close to a UFC welterweight title shot.
