Islam Makhachev[L], Conor McGregor[M], Charles Oliveira[R]
Former lightweight champion Conor McGregor has picked his winner for the upcoming UFC lightweight title fight between Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev which takes place at UFC 280.
UFC 280 is easily one of the most-anticipated PPV events of this year. The entire card is stacked from top to bottom but the main event fight of Charles Oliveira vs Islam Makhachev takes the edge. So much so that the Notorious One will also be paying close attention to that bout.
Conor McGregor in a recent Q&A session with the fans on Twitter revealed his prediction for the title fight between the Brazilian and the Dagestani. The Irishman picks Charles Oliveira to win the fight and believes he will get the job done “easily”. “Olly and easily,” wrote McGregor in his tweet reply to the fan.

Fans are however not surprised with McGregor’s pick given his history with Islam Makhachev’s entourage that has his biggest rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov. Makhachev was also part of the several ugly spats that went down between Nurmagomedov and McGregor during their rivalry in 2018.
Conor McGregor offered to fight Charles Oliveira for the vacant lightweight belt
Everyone in the lightweight division would love a fight against the superstar, Conor McGregor. Charles Oliveira is no different from the rest of the division either. “Do Bronx” after his win against Justin Gaethje immediately called out the Irishman for his next fight. The Brazilian was very adamant to fight McGregor for the vacant title fight and get the “money fight” under his belt.
The Notorious One also replied to Oliveira’s call out and said he was “game” to fight him. Given that the Irishman was injured at the time, Oliveira agreed to fight Islam Makhachev at UFC 280 on only one condition. That he gets to fight the superstar once he wins the belt in Abu Dhabi.
The fight seems to be quite a reach now given that McGregor has put on a ton of muscle and is ideal to fight at a weightclass above the 155-pound division. But you can never rule out any possibility when it comes to Conor “The Notorious” McGregor.
