Dana white’s new project the Power Slap league has been making the buzz for all the wrong reasons since it aired its debut episode on TBS. A brain specialist has come forward to describe the extent of possible injury a contestant for the show could have suffered.
During a match between Chris Thomas and Chris Kennedy, Kennedy was knocked out cold with the very first slap of the match. Kennedy’s whole body went stiff as medics rushed to treat him. Kennedy seemed to have suffered short-term memory loss and even could not recall why he was competing in the match. Chris Nowinski, the founder of the Concussion Legacy Foundation, has shared his view about the extent of Kennedy’s injury and believes could never recover fully.
He made a tweet criticizing Dana white and the TBS network for exploiting the contestants. He tweeted, “This is so sad. Note the fencing posture with the first brain injury. He may never be the same. @danawhite & @TBSNetwork should be ashamed. Pure exploitation. What’s next, “Who can survive a stabbing”? ”
The whole sport has received criticism especially as it differs from other combat sports like boxing and MMA where one can defend oneself. Fans and critics have been pouring their views on social media platforms expressing their concern for the contestants’ health.

Since the inception of the Power Slap league Dana White and another promotor of the sport have been under heavy criticism. So let’s take at some of the reactions on Twitter about the league.
The introduction of Power Slap has caught White at the center of all controversies especially after Dana White was publically caught hitting his wife on New Year’s eve. Although UFC also received heavy criticism during its early years and later was accepted by the mainstream audience it is to be seen if it will be the same with the Power slap league.
