Alexander Volkanovski is set to take on the biggest fight of his career at UFC 284 this Sunday. Volkanovski will be up against Islam Makhachev for the lightweight title. In a recent video, Volkanovski visited one of Australia’s indigenous tribes.
Alexander Volkanovski (25-1) and Tai Tuivasa took part in a dance with members of a tribal group of aboriginal Australians. The Australian champion was seen showcasing tribal dance moves with other fighters and enjoying his time ahead of the UFC 284 bout.

A man of many traits, Volkanovski will be facing the scariest opponent he has ever faced to date. Relatively unfamiliar with losing, his opponent Islam Makhachev is the betting favorite in the upcoming bout. MMA fans have appreciated Volkanovski’s socio-cultural involvement during the fight week.

Alexander Volkanovski believes the failure to take him down will make Islam Makhachev uncomfortable
As the UFC 284 fight week closes in, Alexander Volkanovski’s plans for the fight are yet to be discovered. His opponent, UFC lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev is a Combat Sambo world champion with excellent grappling and takedown abilities.
The UFC 284 main event will mark Islam Makhachev’s first title fight defense and fight for the #1 spot in UFC pound-for-pound ranking. Whereas, Volkanovski will be fighting to retain his spot as the #1 P4P fighter and to become the UFC lightweight champion. The upcoming mega-fight will be a career-defining event for both the fighters and their legacies.
In his recent interviews in the build-up to the mega fight, Volkanovski believes that he carries the right set of weapons to defeat Makhachev in the fight. “When I get the victory, don’t go changing your statements,” Volkanovski told Mac Life on Khabib’s absence in Makhachev’s corner.
Meanwhile, UFC legend and former two-division champion, Daniel Cormier revealed that he is counting on Volkanovski to pull off the greatest upset in MMA history.
