Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, the 7th-ranked welterweight in UFC returns to the octagon after nearly a year. The fighter last fought back in December 2021 against Belal Muhammad against whom he faced a unanimous decision defeat. Prior to that, Thompson faced defeat at the hands of former welterweight contender, Gilbert Burns. That’s two tough losses to bounce back from.

But the last two defeats came against two fighters who were stylistically always going to trouble the veteran. However, the upcoming fight against Kevin Holland is a much more enticing matchup for the fans and for Wonderboy himself. Holland is a fighter that likes to put on a show and tries to keep the fight on his feet. On paper, there could not be a better matchup for Thompson.
