Becky Lynch successfully defends her title against Raw Superstar
Raw Women's Champion
Becky Lynch has been on a dominant run since she returned to WWE at Summerslam 2021. Moments after making her shocking return, Lynch challenged the EST of WWE, Bianca Belair, for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. If her return wasn’t shocking enough, her dominant 26-second win over Belair certainly was.
The Man has held a title since the day she returned to WWE. While she had won the Smackdown Women’s title, she exchanged it with Charlotte Flair for the Raw Women’s title – due to the WWE Draft. Since kicking off her reign as the Champion on the Red brand – Lynch has feuded against Belair and Flair.
Post this, she wanted a new Challenger to step up to her. Liv Morgan capitalized on the chance and won a Fatal 5-Way match to become the No.1 Contender for the Raw Women’s Championship. Initially, the match was expected to take place at WWE Day 1. But it was moved up by a couple of weeks – to the latest episode of Raw.
Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan collided for the Raw Women’s title, in the main event of Raw. Both the Superstars delivered a strong main event – which had enough hard-hitting, high-flying moments. But the ending was quite lousy. Lynch once again got the support of the ring ropes to help her pin her opponent! Much like Morgan, the fans were equally devastated due to the questionable ending of the match.
WWE Day 1 could feature Becky Lynch – Liv Morgan rematch
The fans of Liv Morgan were clearly not happy with the way the Raw Women’s Championship match ended. In fact, in a post-match interview, Morgan made it clear that things are far from over between her and Becky Lynch. This could mean that we could witness a rematch being added to the WWE Day 1 card.
So far, three matches have been announced for the upcoming WWE PPV. The WWE Championship triple threat match, Universal Championship match and a non-title bout between The Miz and Edge. WWE Day 1 airs live on 1st January, 2022.
