Dolph Ziggler is one of the most recognised superstars of the modern era. Though it might not be visible right off the bat due to the way Ziggler has maintained himself, The Show off has actually spent more than a decade in the industry. Ziggler has made a name for himself as a prolific wrestler and one of the best promo workers.

Dolph Ziggler’s real name is Nicholas Theodore Nemeth. He became a great admirer of the sport when he watched a wrestling event in his childhood and then decided to become a pro wrestler. After establishing his name in amateur wrestling, Ziggler signed a contract with OVW in 2004, which was the developmental territory for WWE at that time.

Ziggler eventually wrestled under his real name in OVW. In the upcoming years he juggled a lot between main roster and developmental territories with him being repackaged in various gimmicks. His first major title win came in 2006 when he played the role of a cheerleader as a part of Spirit Squad and won The World Tag Team Championship with them.

However, he was soon transferred to FCW, and made his return to main roster in 2008, being repackaged as Dolph Ziggler who was a heel character. He found immense success in this persona as he has gone on to win 15 Championships in WWE till now. Ziggler is a 6-time Intercontinental Champion, 2 time United States Champion, 2 time World Heavyweight Champion, NXT Champion and two time Tag Team Champion as well.

Ziggler’s portfolio is enough to tell how much talent he possesses and has been one of the most dynamic wrestlers on the roster. He is also for his unique ability to sell a move perfectly. Talking about his in-ring name “Dolph Ziggler” he had once explained that “Dolph” is his grandfather’s name while the surname “Ziggler” was suggested by his friend. Throughout his career Ziggler has feuded with the likes of Triple H, John Cena, Sheamus, Chris Jericho and many more.

Well, not many people know but Dolph Ziggler is also an active stand up comedian and once took a brief hiatus from the company to pursue his passion for the art. Ziggler grew up watching stand up comedians like Adam Sandler, Johnny Carson, Phil Hartman and many more which made him curious about the field.

By 2013, Ziggler started performing stand comedy acts in places nearby WWE arenas and later started getting offers from small places to perform for them. He later started hosting an improv-comedy show named Flying Chuck. By 2018, Ziggler began to work more comedy shows around WWE premium live events such as SummerSlam and Survivor Series and used them to get funds for his first major show due to a lot of audience supporting him.

After Royal Rumble in 2019, he took a brief hiatus for around six months from WWE, to pursue his first Comedy Tour titled DZ Comedy Tour and returned to action in June, 2019 to enter in a feud with Kofi Kingston.Ziggler said that he took a break from the ring to get away from his Character as he felt that it was getting very repetitive.
