Lynch will face Belair at Extreme Rules

WWE Extreme Rules is the next PPV on the schedule. With the “Biggest Party of the Summer” and essentially the biggest WWE PPV of 2021 – Summerslam in the cards, the focus has now shifted to the next big event.

WWE Summerslam 2021 had massive surprises for the WWE Universe, which could get the fans excited for WWE Extreme Rules 2021. Becky Lynch and Brock Lesnar returned to the company at the PPV. With Lynch being the Smackdown Women’s Champion, her appearance at Extreme Rules is as good as confirmed.

Becky Lynch surprised the WWE Universe by challenging Bianca Belair for the title, and shocked when she squashed Belair. The decision was reportedly made to establish Lynch as a Heel. On the latest episode of WWE Smackdown, Bianca Belair defeated Zelina Vega, Carmella and Liv Morgan in a 4-Way Elimination match to become the No.1 Contender for the title – virtually booking Lynch vs Belair for WWE Extreme Rules.

But the same cannot be said about Brock Lesnar. He made a surprising return in the final moments of WWE Summerslam 2021, and faced-off against Universal Champion Roman Reigns. But Lesnar vs Reigns is too big a bout for Extreme Rules and WWE would like to save the mega match for a bigger event like Survivor Series.

On the latest episode of WWE Smackdown the fans were expecting Brock Lesnar to come out during Roman Reigns’ celebration segment. But a complete swerve was thrown when Finn Balor came out. Fans might remember that he was the rightful owner of the Summerslam main event spot. But things turned in John Cena’s favor.

But now Balor, who is also the inaugural Universal Champion, is back to get what he deserves. In fact, a Universal Championship match has been announced for next week. It seems like the feud will continue through WWE Extreme Rules 2021, and then we might get to see a full-fledged Lesnar vs Reigns rivalry.
