Hell in a Cell 2021, will be featuring 2 matches inside the unforgiving structure. From the Smackdown brand, the Universal Championship will be on the line, with Roman Reigns taking on Rey Mysterio.
From the Raw brand, Bobby Lashley will be defending his title against Drew McIntyre. While Lashley will be battling inside the Hell in a Cell for the first time in his career, McIntyre has only once been inside the barbaric structure.
The WWE Champion recently appeared for an interview with Sportskeeda, where he acknowledged the fact that fighting inside the Hell in a Cell is going to be a completely different ballgame.
“…you just make your match the best that you can have. And I think, with Drew and I, just going from our WrestleMania match, it’s going to be rough, it’s going to be seriously… and just putting us in this Hell In A Cell… I can only imagine how my body’s gonna feel Monday, ’cause I’m gonna do whatever it takes to take that title, and I know he’s willing to do whatever it takes to take it away from me.”
If Drew McIntyre loses at WWE Hell in a Cell, he cannot challenge Bobby Lashley for the Championship again
One of the biggest WWE Superstars since 2020, has undoubtedly been Drew McIntyre. He had been the WWE Champion for a major part of the year, and when he wasn’t, he was still the challenger. But now he might move out of the WWE title scene.
The contract of the Drew McIntyre – Bobby Lashley Hell in a Cell match states that if McIntyre loses, he won’t be allowed to challenge for the WWE Championship anymore, as long as Lashley is the Champion.
Lashley has already successfully defended his title against McIntyre on two occasions – Wrestlemania 37 and Wrestlemania Backlash. It is only fair for Lashley to move on to newer opponents, of he wins again at WWE Hell in a Cell 2021.
WWE Hell in a Cell 2021 airs live on 20th June, 2021.
