Sonya Deville is a professional wrestler and also a mixed martial artist. After performing for WWE as an in-ring performer for several years, she currently portrays the role of an on-screen performer on both the main roster brands of WWE – Raw and Smackdown. She has been with the company since 2015.

Deville had kicked off her association with WWE as a contestant of WWE Tough Enough, post which she signed a contract with the company. Initially, she was a part of then-developmental territory NXT and was quickly called up to the main roster in 2017. Deville was part of a stable named Absolution – which included Mandy Rose and Paige. Later Deville and Rose came to be known as Fire and Desire.

For a major part of her time on WWE, Sonya Deville performed alongside Mandy Rose. In fact, at Summerslam 2020 she faced Rose in a Loser leaves WWE match – where Deville lost and was off WWE TV (to cater to some personal issues). She soon made her return to WWE but this time as an official for the company.

Deville’s fellow WWE official Adam Pearce recently appeared on WWE’s The Bump where he revealed that how much power Deville has an official. “I think what people have to understand is, as a WWE official, Sonya carries that same title. There isn’t a hierarchy where one of us stands taller over the other. We look eye to eye in terms of these decisions. So I don’t necessarily have the ability to step in and deal with what Sonya is doing,” mentioned Pearce.

Interestingly, when Deville debuted as a WWE official she was introduced as an assistant to Adam Pearce. But as the time passed, fans could see Deville taking some bold decisions on her own. Initially there was confusion as to why Pearce wasn’t questioning some of her decisions – but now Pearce himself has provided a proper reason.

Sonya Deville might soon make an in-ring return

A couple of months ago, Naomi made her return to WWE. But Deville was clearly having some issues with giving any sort of air time to the former Smackdown Women’s Champion. This hinted that Sonya Deville might be returning to in-ring action.

While Sonya Deville did return to action a couple of weeks ago, but it was in a Handicap match. She teamed up with Shayna Baszler to face Naomi. Although Deville and Baszler picked up the win – she didn’t participate much in the match. But as this feud continues, the possibility of her return continues to increase.
