Liv Morgan seriously injured ahead of her Championship match after a brutal attack by Becky Lynch on WWE Raw

Liv Morgan has been with WWE since 2014, but she has been finally getting the long-deserved push in the company. For a major part of her WWE career, Morgan was seen as a Tag Team Superstar. She was a part of The Riott Squad along with Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan.

But since 2021, after the release of Ruby Riott, the Riott Squad completely dissolved and kicked off Morgan’s singles run with the company. While Ruby went on to become a part of the All Elite Wrestling roster, Morgan started rising on the WWE roster. After a long feud against Carmella, she worked her way to earn a title shot.

A few weeks ago, before WWE Survivor Series 2021, Liv Morgan defeated Bianca Belair, Queen Zelina, Carmella and Rhea Ripley in a Fatal 5-Way match to become the No.1 Contender for the Raw Women’s Championship. The match took place in the main event of the recent episode of Raw. Becky Lynch managed to retain her title after using the ropes for leverage to pin down Morgan.

Becky Lynch brutal attacks Liv Morgan on WWE Raw

On the latest episode of Raw, Lynch came out to celebrate her win over Morgan. Liv soon came out and challenged Lynch to a rematch at WWE Day 1. Soon a brawl broke out between them and Morgan was shoved into the steel steps. She stomped at Morgan’s arms on the steel steps. As Morgan screamed in pain, Lynch announced that she accepts the challenge.

After Raw went off-air, during the Raw Talk it was revealed that Morgan has a deep bonebruise and a strained radial collateral ligament in her left arm. It was a smart move by Lynch considering that her opponent is now injured, and will not be walking into Day 1 completely fit. This again provides Lynch with a slight edge over her opponent ahead of their clash for the title.

The Raw Women’s Championship match was added to the WWE Day 1 card, during the latest episode of WWE Raw. Becky Lynch will be walking in as the Champion and will surely hope to retain once again, after attacking Liv Morgan. So far, a total of 5 matches have been announced for the event.

The WWE Day 1 card includes:

  • Universal Championship match: Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar
  • WWE Championship match: Big E vs Seth Rollins vs Kevin Owens vs Bobby Lashley
  • Raw Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch vs Liv Morgan
  • Smackdown Tag Team Championship: The Usos vs The New Day
  • Edge vs The Miz

WWE Day 1 airs live on 1st January 2022.
