Continuing her menacing run of late, Becky Lynch had a tall task in hand last night at No Mercy. Lynch defended the NXT Women’s Title against Tiffany Stratton in an Extreme Rules match. The Man even paid tribute to Bray Wyatt by sketching his wording on the back of her ring gear. Once the match began, both superstars were in a different orbit from the get-go.

Although the match in itself was fantastic and deserves a complete watch, some moments stood out. A jaw-dropping spot came when Tiffany Stratton planted Big Time Becks with a picturesque Swanton Bomb from the top rope on a table to the outside. After slugging it out till the end, Stratton went for her patent Moonsault on Lynch. However, Becky got out of harm’s way in time.

That slight opening was all the former Irish Lass kicker needed. She seized the opportunity and planted her opponent with a massive Manhandle Slam on a pile of steel chairs. That was enough to keep the 24-year-old grounded for the three count. Despite missing out on an opportunity to reclaim the gold, Tiffany Stratton is only going up from here. She had a star-making performance in Bakersfield this week.

In the aftermath, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has revealed that Becky Lynch got about 11 stitches following the retention of her title at No Mercy. Based on the spots Lynch and Stratton had, it was almost certain that someone would have to get the worst of those exchanges. In a place where no wrestler wants to be, the NXT Women’s Champion got those blistering cuts, ending up with a laceration to her arm.

Becky Lynch has a huge match coming up on WWE Raw

Becky Lynch is a warrior, and she ain’t letting some bruises halt her run as the champion. That being said, she’s currently scheduled to defend her title against the upstart Tegan Nox on the upcoming edition of Monday Night Raw. Last week, Nox had a stellar win over Natalya to earn a title shot.

For all the good measures, that would give her a world of confidence heading into the match of her life against Lynch. Becky wants to elevate the current state of the women’s division. Tegan Nox is just the beginning in that direction. Even though she’s a veteran, Becky would hope not to let that negligence creep in while taking on a less experienced name.

Whichever way it goes, Nox vs. Lynch has the potential to steal the night on the red brand this week. Of course, that should deploy Tegan on the map. The management has shown their trust in The Girl with the Shiniest Wizard, and she must deliver. Nox even expressed her gratitude towards Lynch for igniting that fire inside her.
