“She’s the future but I’m still the present,” Becky Lynch assesses Rhea Ripley as the Undisputed future of WWE

A lot has went down for women’s division of WWE in 2022. The fans got to witness the unhindered rise of Rhea Ripley. This was undoubtedly the best year she has had so far. The decision to put her with The Judgment Day proved out as a great strategic move. By the looks, Ripley gets along so well with guys like Finn Balor and Damian Priest. In addition, her relationship with Dominik Mysterio has been an epic one.
The Eradicator of The Judgment Day also feels one of the most protected superstars all year. Also, the part in her gimmick which activates that Chyna mode within herself is an appealing one. She’s heading towards potentially the biggest feud of her career, and that’s against Becky Lynch.
As we know, the latest WWE house show in Toronto saw Seth Rollins battle Finn Balor inside of a Steel-cage. At one point, Ripley lost her composure and entered the cage to attack The Visionary. However, it didn’t took much for Becky to come to the aid of her husband and she brought Kendo Stick with her. After multiple shots and Manhandle Slam, The Man stood tall.
Earlier in December, Lynch had a chat with Matthew Connell. She didn’t held herself back about her thoughts on Rhea Ripley. Loading her up with massive praise, The Irishwoman was quick to adjudge The Australian as the future of WWE. However, when it comes to the comparison between themselves, Becky insisted that she’s still the present. Concluding the conversation, she added that when the time’s right, she’ll put Rhea Ripley in her rightful place.
“I think Rhea is one of the greatest female athletes that we’ve ever seen. I think she’s incredible. She is so young, so full of potential. I look at her and I go “well, that’s the future of the business and the business is in good hands. She’s the future but I’m still the present”. There can only be one Man around the place. If I have to put her in her place then I’ll put her in her place.”
Rhea Ripley is rumored to face Becky Lynch at Wrestlemania 39
One of the most but-obvious matches for Wrestlemania 39 were Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey. After snubbing the WWE Universe of this epic clash back in 2019, the fans were about to get this next year. However, it seems like Rousey’s dreadful title run, which has been ended by Charlotte Flair now, was carefully being assessed.
As of now, this match is now cancelled and won’t be happening at the Shows of Shows this year. According to a report, people close to Becky Lynch indicated that her supposed clash with Ronda has now lost it’s lustre. And to a far extent, this is absolutely true and hard to argue about.

This now leaves a spot for someone to replace Ronda Rousey. Well, it seems like the decision has already been made and Rhea Ripley is that woman who’ll get this opportunity. Additionally, further reports suggest that now Becky Lynch and Rhea Ripley will collide for the Raw Women’s Championship at the Grandest Spectacle of 2023.
