Judging by Dwayne Johnson‘s recent social media ventures, he still believes that the fans couldn’t wait to see him wrestle Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. Doused under the same influence, one of Johnson’s business partners, Brian Gewirtz, took to his X account and posted the massive crowd reaction ‘The Great One’ received on SmackDown. Further, Gewirtz also noted that the fans had no idea.

That last line could be written in some other light. But most people believe it has something to do with the ongoing outcry on social media. The internet is replete with detestation for The Rock as he adroitly muscled Cody Rhodes out of his WrestleMania showdown against Roman Reigns. Voicing their support for The American Nightmare, the fans have made Rhodes the top trend on X for the past two days.

Despite the upsurge in hostile rebellion against The Rock, WWE is continuing to feature The Brahma Bull on their social media handles. Last night at NXT Vengeance Day, some fans put up signboards featuring their scorn for The Rock and how he screwed Cody. PWInsider has reported that WWE is closely monitoring the negative reaction they’re getting, encompassing the entire situation.

As for Cody Rhodes, he’s been announced for a Bull Rope match against Shinsuke Nakamura on Raw this week. The current idea is for him to challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight title at WrestleMania.

However, some people in WWE are hopeful that the higher-ups will take note of the unfavorable reactions from the fans and pivot back to their original plan of Cody Rhodes potentially finishing the story against Roman Reigns in Philadelphia.

How Dwayne Johnson’s WrestleMania plans will be assisted by Brian Gewirtz?

Right now, it seems like WWE is on track to officially announce The Rock vs. Roman Reigns this Thursday at the Las Vegas presser. If they do, Cody’s dreams will be dashed and relegated to a different route at WrestleMania.

PWInsider has reported that Brian Gewirtz will represent The Rock in the creative process moving forward. Gewirtz, a former WWE lead writer, is also being kept as “Plan B” if Endeavor fields a Dwayne Johnson-backed creative team down the line.

The upcoming days are going to be extremely pertinent in regards to what this year’s WrestleMania card will look like. Moreover, how the fans in the arenas will react to Dwayne Johnson is something one needs to keep a close eye on.
