Cody Rhodes’ failure to win at WrestleMania 39 has left many of the fans and his loved ones desolated. The American Nightmare faced Roman Reigns at the Showcase of the Immortals. However, he ended up crumbling in the hands of The Tribal Chief, failing to finish his story. In a recent podcast, former WWE superstar Scott Dawson a.k.a. Dax Harwood said that Cody Rhodes should have emerged victorious at WrestleMania 39.

Ever since Cody Rhodes returned to WWE, his only goal has been to capture the WWE Championship. It’s a title that his legendary father, the late Dusty Rhodes, never won at the company. Therefore, The American Nightmare wanted to finish the unfinished story. But he failed to surmount the odds at the Grandest Stage of Them All. Despite giving everything, Rhodes ended up on the losing side and failed to capture the WWE title.

Speaking on the FTR podcast with Matt Koon, AEW superstar Dax Harwood said that he felt Cody Rhodes should have defeated Roman Reigns and won at WrestleMania. He took a shot at the people who have been saying that Rhodes needs to surmount more adversity. Referring to Cody Rhodes’ incredible return after his torn pectoral, the 38-year-old said it’s the epitome of overcoming adversity.

In a press conference, when asked about Rhodes’ defeat, Triple H told the fans that WWE always focuses on keeping things storyline-driven. Therefore, taking a shot at this, Harwood said Cody Rhodes’s overcoming his prior WWE journey is already “storyline-driven.” He referred to the “Stardust” gimmick and said WWE could play a package of how Cody overcomes that.

“Before he left, the man was Stardust. Show how he had to overcome and made himself a main event level star,” he said. Cody Rhodes’ unfathomable journey from being a rookie to one of the biggest names has left everyone overwhelmed. Therefore, Dax Harwood believes that Cody Rhodes has already surmounted adversity.

Furthermore, he also said that it’s okay for the good guys to win sometimes. The AEW star believes that WrestleMania 39 was the place where Cody Rhodes should have won and finished his story. He said Cody’s unfathomable journey in WWE is already a wonderment in itself.

Brock Lesnar wreaked carnage in the ring last week when he ambushed Cody Rhodes. However, this week on Raw, Cody Rhodes addressed his situation. The American Nightmare said that Lesnar is uncertain about him and wants to sideline him to get into the main event spot.

As a result of that, Cody Rhodes challenged the Beast Incarnate to a match at Backlash. He told the fans that he is afraid of Brock Lesnar, but he is laser-focused on overcoming the Beast. Therefore, it appears that the two top stars of the company will clash at WWE’s next premium live event in Puerto Rico.
