Bad News for WWE Universe in regards to Dwayne Johnson’s WrestleMania 39 plans
Dwayne Johnson was said to be in talks for a brief run in the WWE, which would have led to his outing against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. However, a current report indicates that it might be bad news for the WWE Universe in regards to the plans for The Rock and Roman Reigns.

The speculation that Dwayne Johnson would be facing Roman Reigns at WrestleMania has been going on since last year. There have been a lot of theories and rumors over the last few months that Johnson would win the Royal Rumble and challenge Roman Reigns for a match at WrestleMania 39. Due to his familial connection to The Bloodline and the Anoai family, The Rock may have been the one to take down Reigns and put a stop to his incredible streak.
It now seems that Dwayne Johnson might not be able to engage himself in the WWE. According to a report by Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dwayne Johnson has indicated that he won’t be available for a match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. Johnson allegedly abandoned the plans because he didn’t have enough time to get in shape.
“Since a deadline for WrestleMania plans is coming, The Rock indicated he won’t have time to get into the shape he feels he needs to be in to do a main event match vs Roman Reigns, but kept the door open for something in the future.”

Triple H has back up Plans if Dwayne Johnson doesn’t show up
Dwayne Johnson’s appearance at WrestleMania 39 wasn’t always a sure thing, and it was all mere speculation. So, it was obvious that the WWE had backup plans. According to a December report by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, if the Brahma Bull is unable to compete at WrestleMania 39, Cody Rhodes is a favourite to face The Tribal Chief. The report also stated that there aren’t any multiple plans regarding Reigns’ Road to WrestleMania.
“Regarding WrestleMania, Paul Levesque has made a decision on the Roman Reigns direction for WrestleMania in the event it is not Dwayne Johnson, which is a very real possibility. I don’t know that direction although Cody Rhodes would be the betting line favorite for those on the outside right now.”
Additionally, it was speculated that Roman Reigns may finish WrestleMania 39 as the undisputed universal champion. However, now that Johnson might not be available at the event, fans can expect Roman Reigns to lose at WrestleMania.
Cody Rhodes, being one of the popular babyfaces of the company, has made it clear that his ultimate goal is to become the World Champion one day. Johnson’s unavailability will also make Rhodes the favorite to win the Royal Rumble. The American Nightmare recently announced his return to the Royal Rumble.
