Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels have been the biggest rivals in pro wrestling. In 2009, they were involved in a very personal feud. The rivalry was so intense that it became one of the best storylines in WWE history. The iconic feud recently completed fifteen years on August 17. During one of their promo segments, Jericho hit HBK’s wife, following a war of words.

The Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels feud was one of the major storylines during that time. The biggest turning point in the story took place at SummerSlam 2009. Jericho and Michales were featured in a segment involving the latter’s wife. The former WWE star attempted to hit HBK, but the latter dogged it. As a result, Jericho ended up hitting Michaels’ wife, leaving her unconscious.

The segment left each and every WWE fan speechless at that time. However, that was one of the most iconic promo segments. During the promo, Jericho said that all the accomplishments of HBK would be left for nothing. Moreover, he told the Hall of Famer that the last page of his career will be written, “Shawn Michaels was forced to walk away from the ring because of Chris Jericho.”

HBK wasn’t reluctant to fire back at Jericho with some personal comments, saying he would relax with his kids and wife at his home. Shawn Michaels went on to say that Chris Jericho would also relax at home with his kids. However, he wanted Chris to say to his kids that “Daddy will never, ever be Shawn Michaels.”

In essence, the words of Shawn Michaels infuriated Chris Jericho, which made him punch Shawn’s wife accidentally. HBK was left stunned as he looked at his wife, lying down after an attack. The crowd was silent as Jericho walked out of the ring in disbelief.
