Riyadh is rumbling and is almost on the brink of a historic night. WWE will present the Crown Jewel premium live event from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, slated to emanate from the Mohammed Abdu Arena. The show will be headlined by Roman Reigns defending his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against LA Knight.
The billboards have lit up the streets, and the energy is palpable in the ambiance of Riyadh. Apart from Reigns vs. Knight, WWE has other slobber knockers on the card too, and one must not sleep on them. In one of the most anticipated World Title matches in recent history, Seth Rollins defends his World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre.
There’s so much excitement in the air, and it can be perceived through the numerous media events WWE is conducting in the vicinity of Crown Jewel’s venue. Mayhem is about to strike a sold-out arena. But before that, let’s take a look at how things stand right now. The final betting odds have been released courtesy of Bet Online, and it’s better to take a snap of them.
1. Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight (Undisputed WWE Universal Championship)
Having risen from the misery of not even in consideration for shows to main eventing Crown Jewel with Roman Reigns, LA Knight is quite the story. He has climbed up the ranks faster than anyone, and he’s ready to challenge The Tribal Chief in Riyadh. These superstars have been at loggerheads in recent weeks.
Though Knight has been relentless with his tactics on Reigns, the betting odds tell a completely different story. Currently at -5000 (1/50), Roman Reigns is the monster favorite to emerge victorious in the battle of attrition against The Megastar. The latter has a paltry +900 (9/1) chance, which holds absolutely no significance.
2. Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre
(World Heavyweight Championship)
This might prove to be Seth Rollins’ toughest battle ever since capturing the title at Night of Champions in May. He’s going to face a man who’s under the impression that he’s been deprived of having his moments in WWE. Drew McIntyre has constantly brought up all the hardships he had to go through during his feud with The Bloodline.
Rollins dismissed McIntyre’s moaning about living in the past and asked The Scottish Warrior to turn the heat on. Also, there’s a slight chance that The Judgment Day could make their presence felt during this match with Damian Priest, holding that Money in the Bank contract. As of now, Seth Rollins is a clear favorite to retain his title at -400 odds against Drew McIntyre, who stands at +250.
3. Rhea Ripley vs. Nia Jax vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Shayna Baszler vs. Zoey Stark (Women’s World Championship)
This multi-woman slugfest might be the weak link on paper. However, it has the potential to stand out. It pertains to five of the best female superstars from Raw vying for Rhea Ripley‘s gold. It’s going to be a tough one for The Eradicator and she’d hope to avoid an upset at any cost.
Going by the betting odds, Rhea Ripley is the favorite to retain her title at a strong -2000 (1/20). Following her with the best chance is Raquel Rodriguez at +500, Nia Jax holds firm with +800, while Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark are the underdogs at +1000 and +1100 odds, respectively.
4.) Iyo Sky vs. Bianca Belair (WWE Women’s Championship)
After controversially retaining her title on SmackDown against Charlotte Flair a few weeks ago, a returning Bianca Belair stunned Iyo Sky. At SummerSlam, Sky cashed in on Belair to capture the Women’s Championship and The EST wants revenge. These women last battled at Backlash this year, when Bianca survived a scare against Iyo.
With their match booked for the PLE in Riyadh, Iyo and Belair could steal the show. On this week’s SmackDown, GM Nick Aldis banned Bayley and Dakota Kai from being in Iyo’s corner tomorrow. However, the betting odds still favor the Champion to retain her title at -300 (1/3) contrary to +200 (2/1) for Belair. The match could see the WWE return of Kairi Sane as well.
5. Rey Mysterio vs. Logan Paul (United States Championship)
This is the only match on the card with the champion as the prohibitive underdog. The betting odds favor Logan Paul at -1000 (1/10) while Rey Mysterio is tottering at +500 (5/1) votes. Since winning the US title from Austin Theory, Mysterio hasn’t been involved in any major storylines for the gold.
However, this clash with Logan Paul could be Rey’s last one with the title on his shoulders. Also, WWE would be tempted to crown The Maverick as the brand-new United States Champion due to his mainstream reach. Considering he takes the title off Rey in Riyadh, Logan might opt for a full-time run as long as he remains the Champion.
6. Cody Rhodes vs. Damian Priest
This is one of the two non-title matches on the main card for Crown Jewel. Cody Rhodes‘ never-ending saga with The Judgment Day leads him to a grudge match against Damian Priest. No one knows where this story is headed, as it’s been going on since May. Nevertheless, The American Nightmare is being considered a hot favorite to beat Priest at -700 (1/7).
The Judgment Day interruption seems inevitable during the contest. However, it would be interesting to see how Rhodes overcomes the numbers. Damian Priest isn’t going to give a cakewalk to Cody Rhodes, and the latter will have to earn every ounce of it.
7.) John Cena vs. Solo Sikoa
Last but certainly not least, John Cena will look to break the deadlock against Solo Sikoa. Interestingly, this match stands exactly at -120 (5/6) for both individuals, landing in no one’s favor. However, the story has been that Cena hasn’t been able to win a singles match in over 2,000 days.
That could prove to be a factor, as WWE might let John Cena beat The Bloodline’s Enforcer at Crown Jewel. This week on SmackDown, The Cenation Leader verbally destroyed Solo. It made The Street Champion look like a minnow, and he’ll have to dig deep against a motivated veteran in John Cena.
