Goldberg speaks on The Great Muta's forthcoming retirement

When you look around for wrestling icons outside of America, names from Japan and Mexico will pop-up at first. Top of the list should be The Great Muta. He’s been a true trailblazer in shaping up this business in the local market. Also, he inspired a younger lot of generation to dare enough and pursue professional wrestling as a career.

However, after serving his duties for decades and working for the welfare of this sacred mat, Muta’s time is almost up. His days as an in-ring competitor are numbered and he’s set to have his farewell match on February 21st. Just days before his final hurrah in that squared circle, the Japanese legend received some words of encouragement from one of his old friends in Goldberg.

While speaking in a special conversation with NOAH, Goldberg described his relationship with The Great Muta. The WWE Hall of Famer turned out grateful for their time together in the past and highlighted Muta’s irreplaceable mark in this business. After declaring himself as a fan, Goldberg expressed his sadness over the Japanese’s incredible career coming to a close.

“I wish you nothing but the best, my friend. The times we had together were very special to me, and I greatly appreciate your help in the business. I’m a fan. I am a peer. And ultimately, I am saddened about your retirement because all good things must come to an end.”

Will Goldberg ever return to WWE?

There have been zero signs of Goldberg on WWE television since Vince McMahon’s creative excempt. Not relating everything with Mr. McMahon, the WCW legend’s contract got expired last year and hence he’s not appeared in the company. Imperatively so, the Jewish wrestler has not re-signed with WWE.

If that remains the case forever, his last match which he wrestled against Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber last year would be last one ever. No shame in accepting a loss from the present face of the company is what Goldberg might be thinking after suffering that humiliating setback. Many fans think he should stay away from WWE so that he can’t bury more young talent at his expense.
