The formation of the Imperium has its roots in NXT. Although now they are together, they were briefly separated, as Giovanni Vinci hadn’t made it to the main roster along with Ludwig Kaiser and Gunther. The three were united at the Clash at the Castle PLE in September last year.

During a recent interview with the Dallas Morning News, Gunther stated how hard it was for him when he and Ludwig Kaiser were moved up to the main roster. The Ring General, who has formed a close bond with his Imperium mates, stated that he is very happy that all of them are back together.

He said that even though wrestling is a challenging career that requires a lot of travel, he is grateful to have his closest friends at his side. Gunther went on to praise Kaiser and Vinci, calling them excellent wrestlers who deserve to be a part of WWE.

“First of all, it was, it was hard when only myself and Ludwig moved up and Gio kind of stayed behind. And being all together again is fantastic… So very blessed in that regard…..They’re excellent wrestlers in the ring, I think there are just a very few that actually are in the same league with them when it comes to the actual in-ring mechanics. And I’m excited to see where their path will go.”
