WWE Hall of Famer Iron Sheik left the world on June 7 this month, as he was declared dead at his home in Georgia. The WWE legend had been there for the company since its inception and contributed a lot to pro wrestling. His heel persona was utilized to uplift his babyface opponents. He was one of the most iconic names in WWE.
Sheik was the one responsible for the rise of Hulkamania, as he gave Hulk Hogan his first WWF championship victory. On January 23, 1984, he was scheduled for a rematch against Bob Backlund for the title, but Bob was then replaced by Hogan. Five minutes into the match, Sheik went on Hogan for his submission Camel Clutch.
Hulk Hogan managed to break his submission hold when he lifted Sheik on his back and forced him into the turnbuckles. This moment was considered historic as The Hulkster became the first person to break out of the “Camel Clutch.” But an awkward incident transpired during this moment that showed Sheik’s excitement toward the match.
In an old interview with YouShoot, The Iron Sheik was shown a strange moment caught on the live camera. It showed that Sheik got a boner going for his submission move on Hogan after he kicked the latter. Weirdly enough, he was asked about the moment while the video zoomed in on Sheik’s er*ction.
The late Hall of Famer stated that it was the first time he had noticed it and was surprised. He praised the cameraman for filming the best angle possible and showcasing the perfect moment. The host hilariously stated that as the “Loch Ness monster of Iran” and lauded Sheik for going “All Man!”
