After enjoying yet another hiatus from WWE, Roman Reigns returns to his Island of Relevancy this Friday on SmackDown. The fans are already buzzing about the highly anticipated comeback from The Tribal Chief. He has a lot to settle on and might as well need to address the number of brewing challengers for him on the blue brand.
Ahead of his appearance, Bloodline member Jimmy Uso has hyped up the WWE Universe to brace themselves for The Head of the Table. During last night’s WWE live event in Pennsylvania, while Solo Sikoa was making his entrance, Jimmy looked dead into the camera. He had a lot to say during his walk down that aisle.
Though it may end up being just a tagline for the brand-new merchandise that Jimmy was wearing, it has instilled a feeling of conundrum among the fans. Whatever it might be, one thing’s for sure: the landscape of Friday Night SmackDown is set to receive an overhaul when Reigns comes home.

This year, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion hasn’t been around as much. In fact, 2023 is on track to become the least contested year in Roman Reigns’ WWE career. He’s only had five televised matches this year, barring a handful of them on house shows.
His fans would hope to see more of The Tribal Chief by the onset of the new year. As of now, Reigns has matches booked for three SmackDown shows heading into the Royal Rumble. He will likely defend his title at the said PLE, and he might do it against Randy Orton.
Roman Reigns verbally smacked by CM Punk last week on SmackDown
Apart from the ominous signs of The Viper lurking for Roman Reigns, the latter now has one more glaring issue to address. Last week on SmackDown: Tribute to the Troops, the returning CM Punk fired several shots at the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
Punk referred to Reigns as someone who’s never around in WWE. Moreover, The Best in the World reminded Roman who the OG Paul Heyman guy was. To rub salt in the wounds, The Straight Edge Superstar affirmed that Heyman was his wiseman.
After all these curveballs thrown at him, it doesn’t appear like Reigns will take this lightly. WWE has long-term plans for Reigns and Punk to have a major feud. However, they might hold it back until the time is right.
