Cody Rhodes is on a great run lately, getting victories in his TV matches as he gears up for the biggest fight of his life at WrestleMania. Before the big night, though, he has another challenger awaiting next week who has made a bold claim of exposing The American Nightmare.
After interrupting Cody Rhodes’ interview on SmackDown LowDown, Ludwig Kaiser agreed to have a match against the Raw superstar next week. Before the match, though the Imperium member took to Twitter to send a message to his opponent. Kaiser tweeted, “Next week I’ll show the entire world, who @CodyRhodes really is”
The match is fueled by the Imperium’s frustration with Rhodes who eliminated Gunther at the Royal Rumble. Kaiser brought this up in his confrontation and called The American Nightmare “pathetic” and “all-hype.” This prompted the Royal Rumble winner to throw down the challenge for a match next week on SmackDown which Ludwig confidently accepted.
Unlike his WrestleMania opponent Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes is very much active in the ring as well as on TV. The former Intercontinental champion has defeated the likes of Finn Balor, Chad Gable, Baron Corbin, and LA Knight on Raw. Moreover, he has also been active in the WWE live events as well. However, next week his bout against Ludwig Kaiser will mark Rhodes’ first match on SmackDown in 7 years. The former AEW star last competed on the blue brand in 2016 before he left the company.

Cody Rhodes awaits Roman Reigns on WWE Raw

The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion will return to Raw this Monday as WWE announced last week. On the other hand, during his appearance on SmackDown, Cody Rhodes mentioned that he can’t wait to meet Roman Reigns face-to-face on Raw. The Grandson of a Plumber was on the blue brand to bridge the gap between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. While he succeeded in that goal, there is another huge mountain that he still needs to climb as he meets his WrestleMania opponent next Monday.
The two superstars last crossed paths two weeks ago on SmackDown. Apart from that, Cody Rhodes has been building up his feud with Reigns via the other members of the Bloodline. Despite there not being much direct interaction between the champion and the challenger, the match still seems red hot which is a testament to WWE’s booking. As WrestleMania gets closer the WWE Universe can expect a physical altercation or two between the main event superstars.
